Our Lady's Yes to God the Father

Do you know that when Our Lady said yes, in response to the Angel Gabriel, asking her if she would be willing to bear the Christ Child. This is an example to US, to also respond with our YES to God the Father, no matter what HE is asking of you. Do you know that there are times He might tell us NO? This is a time we must trust in HIM, with our whole, body, mind and soul. True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort, teaches us how to give all of ourselves to Jesus through Mary. This is a good little book to reflect on, it teaches you how to respond with your own Yes, to God the Father.

We are God's children by right of baptism, we are also Mary's children as Jesus gave his people to her as He hung on the cross. Do you not know how much HE LOVES YOU?

Our sufferings can be very heavy at times, most especially in our marriages when our fertility is the cross. I do not take this lightly... this is a great suffering for anyone to loose a child or to suffer infertility. This pain is real!!! However, in the simplicity of our hearts we must turn to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar (Holy Eucharist, where HE reigns, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity), and place our trust in HIM. This takes much perserverance and it may take you, days, months or even years to reach that place of PEACE, that you are seeking. This all comes about through how you and the Lord work together on this. You are so special to the Father, He will never push you to a place where you are not ready to go. So, this is why it may take a while to receive the peace that He has for you...but, I must tell you just like a child waiting for a gift at Christmas, your package is waiting for you!

There is NO magic cure or answer to when God will send us what we are asking for...Just maybe, He has a better plan, well of course He does because He is God. We may not look at what He gives us as the better part, but when we let go and stop looking back, we will find peace on our journey. It will not be easy...why? Because we are human, and we have what is called human weakness. We desire a quick and easy fix, most especially in these times that we live in, everything is quick and easy (they even make PB&J sandwiches already prepackaged, now that is sad).

We must be still and patient as we wait upon the Lord.

I will tell you if you can try to place yourself in quiet, each and everyday for 30 minutes a day, as a Carmelite Priest once told me, you will find the healing in your body and soul, that you are seeking. Jesus is the Divine Physician - if He is the Healer, then why do we not go to Him first? Instead we seek consolation from everything and everyone else, Jesus our true friend, is sometimes the last one that we actually consider going to in time of need. I realize we pray, but do we actually listen to what He has to say to us?

Below is a method of prayer that the Carmelites and many monastic souls have used. I pray that this will be a step to your peace as you begin to heal through the sufferings endured and the cross you carry... for Jesus says in the Gospel according to Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

Lecio Divina is the sure way it is the method of Teresian Prayer...
Lectio Divina Framework of Teresian Prayer
File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - View as HTMLFramework of Teresian Prayer. by Fr. Sam Anthony Morello, Discalced Carmelite ... simplicity and inner unity of monastic prayer. The Teresian spirit ... www.elcarmelo.org/LectioDivinaMorello.pdf

Light your candle, sit in a comfortable place...make a cup of tea ... sit with the Lord who is your very best friend and listen... Open your heart, open your hands, close your eyes, pray... "Come Holy Spirit, Come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your well beloved spouse" ....and now listen...

Let this be your first yes, in response to God the Father... as He waits for you to rest in Him and His only Son Our Lord Jesus Christ...may the Holy Spirit come to bring you the peace you need today and always.

God Bless You!

Letter from the Poor Clare's to YOU

I would like to share with you a letter we received from the Poor Clare's yesterday, what a beautiful gift of support they are sharing in the spirit of Christ. God Bless You!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Little hearts,
There are times in life when suffering and struggles have no obvious solution, we cannot see our way forward, we have a great realization of our own inner poverty and helplessness....... this is a time to surrender to God and trust that whatever happens it will be somehow for the best....It is a time to surrender all things into Gods hands and into his Will, which is pure love.
We would like to recommend to you at such times along with your Office, praying with Mary... or even just on its own that you pray the Chaplet of Our Holy Mother St Colette. The Editor of the Boston Journal has made a really beautiful meditative recording of the Chaplet, it is a free gift of love and to be regarded as a mission.
If you would like a free CD of this recording, or a voice file for your friends, please write to the address below, either directly on the e-mail address or go to the site. It would make a perfect gift for someone in perplexity and trial or dealing with sickness.
Please as you pray your Office ask Mary to bless and make fruitful this iniative, thankyou Little hearts. You can get your beautiful CD at.
Emotional Health ~ Miscarriage ~ Stillbirth ~ Infertility
This image was obtained with permission
Although the first article below is in regards to miscarriage and stillbirth, it is in my opinion that the "5 Stages of Grief" should also be looked at in regards to fertility/infertility problems. Although you may not experience a miscarriage each month, when struggling with fertility it is a continual death, until we find the help we need to correct the problems we are enduring or until we receive acceptance only God alone can give us.
We pray these articles will be a help to you where you are, if you are struggling with grief, We understand your pain. Learning to accept where we are in life is the first step to true peace in Christ.
~ Prayer to St. Joseph ~
To you, O Blessed Joseph, we come in our trials, and having asked the help of your most holy spouse, we confidently ask your patronage also. Through that sacred bond of charity which united you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the fatherly love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you to look graciously upon the beloved inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased by his blood, and to aid us in our necessities with your power and strength.
O most provident guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ. Most beloved father, dispel the evil of falsehood and sin. Our most mighty protector, graciously assist us from heaven in our struggle with the powers of darkness. And just as you once saved the Child Jesus from mortal danger, so now defend God's Holy Church from the snares of her enemies and from all adversity. Shield each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your help, we may be able to live a virtuous life, to die a holy death, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.
Saint Catherine of Sienna Intercessor for Pregnancy
Saint Catherine of Sienna, is one of my patrons and also a Dominican Doctor of the Church...wow, how much more powerful intercession do we need in a Saint. Please check out this beautiful site in honor of St. Catherine: http://www.st-catherine-medal.com/prayers-to-saint-catherine.htm
ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA'S PATRON SAINT
St. Catherine is a the patron saint of Europe, firefighters, against fire, bodily ills, illness, miscarriages, nurses, people ridiculed for their piety, against sexual temptation and sick people. St. Catherine suffered much sickness during her lifetime, and so her patronage of sick people and illness is apparent. Her patronage of firefighters has an interesting history: During her ecstasies, St. Catherine, at times fell into fires, so transported was she from her surroundings; however, her skin and clothes remained untouched by the flames. She is also the patron saint of misscarriages, nurses, nursing services and, people ridiculed for their piety.
Miscarriage
I have just received notice of two recent miscarriages and women in need of prayer for this great sorrow in their lives. It saddens me to hear of these losses, in my heart I know Our Lord is taking care of those in this deep pain. Please know that if you have had a recent loss, that Our Lady is with you. She is comforting you, especially when you are feeling so alone!
There is a deep suffering that I endure at times that nothing can take away, accept resting in Our Lords presence in Holy Eucharist... in times of crisis...yes, I do struggle to desire wanting to be near the Lord, but in my heart, I know that there is no where else to go accept to Him who waits in the tabernacle for us.
If you are enduring this cross of miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death and infertility (this is a silent death), I want to urge you to run to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. Jesus is our true medicine! He will bring you peace and hope in time...trust in HIM!!!
Saint Ephrem of Syria
Prayer of Saint Ephrem – O Lord and Master of my life, Keep from me the spirit of discouragement, carelessness, covetousness, and vain words. Grant me, Your servant, the spirit of purity, humility, patience, and love. May my Lord and King grant that I might see my own sins and not judge my brother and sister, for You are blessed forever and ever. Amen.
St. Ephrem is a wonderful example of faith. He was very devoted to the Holy Eucharist, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and to the Holy Trinity.
As we visit Our Lord in Holy Eucharist may He lift our discouragements and bring us the joy that we are seeking in the midst of our great sorrow...Help us Lord to find that patience and love through the cross that we carry today and always.
God bless you.
With Love and Prayers,
"Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
And why is this granted me,
that the mother of my Lord
should come to me?"
"Thought for the Day: SS. Zachary and Elizabeth are living examples of the observant Jews of their day, steeped in Scriptures and awaiting the redemption of Israel. Their admirable fidelity and devotion made them key figures in the coming of Jesus. Mary's kindness in going to help Elizabeth shows her own sensitivity to the welfare of others. It is something we should strive to imitate daily." From "The One Year Book of Saints", by Rev. Clifford Stevens
Let us continue to pray for and help one another as we lift our cross to Jesus and Mary each day...the more we look away from ourselves and see that we are not alone in our suffering the more we will find peace in our own hearts. Happy Feast Day!!!
May Our Lord bless and keep you today and always,
Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
In 1899 Pope Leo XIII approved this Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for public use. This litany is actually a synthesis of several other litanies dating back to the 17th century. Father Croiset composed a litany in 1691 from which 17 invocations were used by Venerable Anne Madeleine Remuzat when she composed her litany in 1718 at Marseille. She joined an additional 10 invocations to those of Father Croiset, for a total of 27 invocations. Six more invocations written by Sister Madeleine Joly of Dijon in 1686 were added by the Sacred Congregation for Rites when it was approved for public use in 1899. This makes a total of 33 invocations, one for each year of life of our Lord Jesus Christ. A partial indulgence is attached to this litany. http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/Litanies/sacred_heart.htm
Our Lady of Perpetual Help, prays for us when we reach out to her. She is our true Mother and each of YOU are the treasure of her heart as you are her adopted children by baptism.
Let us continue to remain ever close to our Heavenly Mother as she leads us to her only son. I know in the beauty of Spring we continue to question God's holy will for our lives. That is a human condition... but let us remember that we must look to the Lord and always be thankful for the beautiful gift of life, He has given us to live in our very selves. Each of you are a treasure in His eyes...please remember this as you wake up each day, kneel down at the foot of your bed and give Our Lord thanks and praise, even if you find it difficult. Maybe you have suffered a loss...this is probably very difficult for you right now, but what you can do is gaze at Our Lord on the Crucifix and ask Him to help you through your time of great need.
When I have found it very difficult to pray, I take my Miraculous Medal and hold it and just pray simply "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee and for those who do not have recourse to thee especially the enemies of the Church." I also try to go before the Lord in His true presence at Holy Mass...this is very healing. Remember, God has a perfect plan for all of our lives, if we follow Him and take care of ourselves, with our bodies being the Temple of the Holy Spirit and also a living Tabernacle each time you receive Him in Holy Eucharist...You are that treasure. Remember to love yourselves as He also loves you.
Enjoy the Spring season and take those cool walks before the heat of summer begins.
Blessings to All of YOU!
St. Rita of Cascia, patron saint of infertility and hopeless cases
Prayers and Novena
We wanted to pass on that yesterday was the feast of St. Rita, she is the patron saint of infertility and hopeless cases... "Ignatius Press" has a movie about Saint Rita's life, that you may be interested in. EWTN has had the movie on this week, we hope some of you were able to watch her life. May your weekend be filled with the Lord's Hope and Joy!
God Bless You,
H.T. Ministry
Saint Rita of Cascia, 1381-1457
Saint Rita of Cascia was born in 1381, in a small Italian village, to elderly parents who had long prayed for a child. At fifteen, Rita wanted to enter the convent but her parents decided that she should marry. They chose a man who turned out to be a mean, violent and unfaithful husband. After eighteen years, her prayers, gentleness and goodness finally won his heart, and he apologized for the way he had treated her and he returned to God.
Shortly after his conversion, he was murdered. Although shocked and heart-broken, she forgave the murderers, and tried to make her two sons forgive them, too. Instead they were determined to avenge their father's death. Rita prayed that they would die rather than commit murder. Both boys became seriously ill, and Rita nursed them lovingly. She was successful in persuading them to forgive, and to ask God's forgiveness for themselves, before they died.
Now that she was alone, Rita tried to enter the convent in Cascia, however, a woman who had been married was not allowed to join. Rita did not give up, and eventually, an exception was made for her. In the convent, Rita was obedient, charitable and devoted to the crucified Jesus. She asked him to let her share some of his pain, and a thorn from his crown of thorns pierced her forehead and made a sore that never healed. It was so bad and foul-smelling that St. Rita had to stay away from the others. She happily suffered to show her love for Jesus.
Saint Rita died on May 22, 1457, at seventy-six years of age. She is the patron saint of infertility, and of hopeless, or desperate, cases.
What's the Right Reason to Adopt?
I just found an article my new friend, Heidi Hess Saxton, wrote on her blog in 2007... it's "What's the Right Reason to Adopt?"
If You Suffer from Infertility - this article is for YOU
These are truly some words to ponder and meditate on.. You can find the whole story at http:www.catholic.com/thisrock/2006/0604fea3.asp
"An Unexpected Blessing -Children, though, are not the only gift of marriage. Infertility, too, is a great and mysterious blessing. Just as much as fertility, infertility is a gift husband and wife give one another. It is an affirmation that "I still love you. I love all of you. And I refuse to allow anything to come between us." Infertility is also a gift couples can give to God and to the world. Like Christ’s crucifixion, infertility is a sign of contradiction in a culture in which human life has lost its value."
Obtained in part from the article "Babies Deserve Better What You Need to Know If You're Struggling With Infertility" by Jameson and Jennifer Taylor
Prayer Support - Fertility, Infertility, Infant loss...Adoption...
Let us join others that are supporting fertility and the sufferings that come with the married state of our Catholic lives. Our Lord never leaves us alone, we have so many that are praying with and for us around the world. As our Dear Lord forms His army of prayer warriors, we are in the process of becoming associated with Elizabeth Ministry International and we would like to encourage all of you to join our efforts as we pray for and encourage each other on our journey of fertility and the married state of life. Here is a prayer that Elizabeth Ministry prays daily some have made the commitment to pray this prayer at noon each day. So if some of you already pray the Angelus http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/prayers/Angelus.htm , this might be a prayer that you consider for those in this great need.
Elizabeth Ministry Prayer
Creator God, I pledge to truly celebrate the gift of each child conceived and born, and fully mourn each miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, infant or child death. I will be a strong witness to my belief in the dignity and worth of all life, by treasuring the gift of fertility, by supporting those suffering infertility, by encouraging those in the adoption process, and by assisting families experiencing an infant or child crisis or special need. I will be a strong and consistent voice for life in my home, my church, my community, and the world.
Amen
Let us lift our prayers up to Our Lady of Fatima this day... she will hear the cries of your heart and place them with her son Jesus. http://www.pilgrimvirginstatue.com/
O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled thereinmay we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer.
Amen
Attention to all who will be at Saint Patrick Church, Columbus, Ohio
Hannah's Tears would like to announce that we have added a prayer box for your convenience underneath the "Infant of Prague Statue" in the front of the church.
Please notice prayer cards and prayer intention cards available for your needs.
The devotion to the Holy Child Jesus has long been a tradition of the Catholic Church for hundreds of years. This devotion is a veneration of our Lord's sacred Infancy. Many saints had a very strong devotion to the Divine Child, notably St. Therese of the Child Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Teresa of Avila. These are also some of the Saints that have been very fruitful to this ministry... Let us stay close to the Infant Jesus
Remember, O Divine Child Jesus
REMEMBER, O Divine Child Jesus, the promises Thou didst make to Venerable Father Cyril, Thy pious servant, in favor of those honoring Thy miraculous Image and the mysteries it reminds us of Thy Childhood. Full of confidence in Thy goodness, O Jesus, we come to submit our misery to Thee.
Grant us, by the infinite merits of Thy Incarnation and of Thy Holy Childhood, to triumph so well over our enemies and to remain so faithful to Thee, that we may deserve to be Thy servants and to be numbered among Thy friends on earth and among Thy blissful in Heaven. Do not reject our humble prayers, O sweet and almighty Jesus, but receive them favorably and be pleased to answer them.
Amen.
Please keep our Catholic Medical field in prayer, that they will have the wisdom from Our Dear Lord and Savior, to help us in our physical needs. We need to keep them in prayer as much as we need to keep priests and families in prayer. Maybe we could offerr 3 Glory Be's for their profession every day in honor of the Blessed Trinity.
God Bless You All!
Prayer to Saint Luke
Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of love. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed his divinity and his genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day. Amen.
In Our Sufferings, the Lord has promised to Refresh Us
St. Patrick Church
280 N. Grant Ave.
Columbus, Ohio 43215
"Come to the foot of the altar. Graces will be shed on all, great and little, especially upon those who seek for them."
"Blessed be God, the Father of mercies, the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our afflictions"
(2 Cor. 1:3-4)
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will refresh you"
(Mt. 11:28)
Seek and Ye Shall Find, Knock and the Door Will be Opened
What is Our Lord calling you to? Have you heard that still quiet voice within your own heart, as you pray before the Lord? What is He asking of you?
No one can tell you, but if you ask the Lord He will tell you.
Do you feel a call to adoption or foster care? Maybe you feel that you are not good enough or you can't see yourself raising someone elses child.
Always remember that children are a gift from the Lord and that if Our Lord is asking you to such a great task, like adopting a child who needs a mommy and daddy. A child that a is alone and in need. Remember this that God the Father will give you the grace that you and your spouce need, if you go to Him, who waits for YOU.
BE NOT AFRAID... PRAY HOPE AND DON'T WORRY. If there are mountains in the way of your adoption process, go to the Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, He will move the mountains in your life. Trust HIM!
You are all in our daily prayers, there is an army of prayer warriors praying for you! That picture in my mind gives me hope. I pray it gives you that same hope and trust that you need. God bless you...
Blessings in the Heart of Christ Jesus
Holy Spirit Novena
If you would like to participate in the novena to the Holy Spirit, start your novena today!!!
http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/pentecost/seven.htm
The novena in honor of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. It is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light and strength and love so sorely needed by every Christian.
Quamquam Pluries: Devotion to St. Joseph
QUAMQUAM PLURIES ENCYCLICAL OF POPE LEO XIII ON DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/leo_xiii/encyclicals/documents/hf_l-xiii_enc_15081889_quamquam-pluries_en.html
Check out the encyclical Pope Leo XIII wrote about on St. Joseph... here's just a little piece of the pie!
"During periods of stress and trial - chiefly when every lawlessness of act seems permitted to the powers of darkness - it has been the custom in the Church to plead with special fervour and perseverance to God, her author and protector, by recourse to the intercession of the saints - and chiefly of the Blessed Virgin, Mother of God - whose patronage has ever been the most efficacious. "
Feast of St. Joseph the Worker
How special he is to all of us as Catholic Christians, he truly takes us by the hand and leads us to where God is calling us in our lives today. . . if we but learn to trust like St. Joseph we will be set free from all worry. Let us all ask St. Joseph for his special intercession in our lives today.
May God bless you today and may you have a beautiful feast of St. Joseph the Worker!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A MORNING OFFERING THROUGH ST. JOSEPH

Receive me, dear and chosen Father, and the offering of every movement of my body and soul, which I desire to present through thee to my blessed Lord. Purify all! Make all a perfect holocaust! May every pulsation of my heart be a Spiritual Communion, every look and thought an act of love, every action a sweet sacrifice, every word an arrow of Divine love, every step an advance toward Jesus, every visit to Our Lord as pleasing to God as the errands of Angels, every thought of thee, dear Saint, an act to remind thee that I am thy child. I recommend to thee the occasions in which I usually fail, particularly . . . [Mention these]. Accept each little devotion of the day, though replete with imperfection, and offer it to Jesus, Whose mercy will overlook all, since He regards not so much the gift as the love of the giver. Amen.

Let us pray for each other...

Dearest Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I know that most of you are probably sisters... but you never know who's visiting. :-D

Let us pray one for another as we each carry our sufferings before the Lord, as we are always so aware of ourselves let us find a moment that we can lift a prayer for that unknown soul out in the world today that feels very alone in their sufferings.

Let us all become like Simon of Cyrene. Simon meaning "He who Hears"... let us become Catholic Christians that are listening to each others crys for hope, let us lift up our prayers for one another before the altar of the Lord and most especially during the Divine Mercy hour (3pm).

God Bless You,
Hannah's Tears

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://www.ewtn.com/library/papaldoc/jjp2sta.htm
O Christ, you gave to Simon of Cyrene the dignity of carrying your cross. Welcome us too under its weight, welcome all men and women and grant to everyone the gift of readiness to serve. Do not permit that we should turn away from those who are crushed by the cross of illness loneliness, hunger or injustice. As we carry each other's burdens, help us to become witnesses to the gospel of the cross and witnesses to you, who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
Marian Apostolate
Dearest Friends,
We have found some beautiful readings under the site below, one of them being the article entitled "Mother Teresa of Calcutta and the Miraculous Medal". Let us follow the example of this holy woman, as we lift our hearts to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, as she leads us to Jesus...http://www.companionsofstanthony.org/marian-apostolate.htm
God Bless You,
~ ACT of CONSECRATION ~
O Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate, we dedicate and consecrate ourselves to you under the title of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. May this Medal be for each one of us a sure sign of your affection for us and a constant reminder of our duties toward you. Ever while wearing it, may be blessed by your loving protection and preserved in the grace of your Son. O most powerful Virgin, Mother of our Savior, keep us close to you every moment of our lives. Obtain for us, your children, the grace of a happy death; so that, in union with you, we may enjoy the bliss of heaven forever. Amen
Saint Gianna Novena
Dear Friends,
We are a few days late getting started with the St. Gianna Novena, but if you would like to participate with this beautiful novena along with the Society of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, please begin your novena of prayers today. Her feast day is April 28th along with St. Louis Marie de Monfort , who teaches us the "True Devotion to Mary" http://www.ewtn.com/library/Montfort/TRUEDEVO.HTM, here you will find the "TREATISE ON TRUE DEVOTION TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN". Let us go to these Saints and ask them for intercession for us from Heaven.
Blessings,
Hannah's Tears
Novena to Obtain Graces Through
Saint Gianna Beretta Molla
God, our Father, You have granted to Your church the gift of Gianna Beretta Molla. In her youth she lovingly sought You and drew other young people to You, involving them, through apostolic witness and Catholic Action, in the care of the sick and aged, to help and comfort them.
We thank You for the gift of this young woman, so deeply committed to You. Through her example grant us the grace to consecrate our lives to Your service, for the joy of our brothers and sisters.
Glory be...
Jesus, Redeemer of mankind, You called Saint Gianna to exercise the medical profession as a mission for the comfort of bodies and souls. In her suffering fellow men and in the little ones, deprived of all support, she saw You. We thank You for having revealed Yourself to this servant as “one who serves” and who soothes the sufferings of men. Treasuring her example may we become generous Christians at the service of our brothers and sisters, especially those with whom You deign to share Your Cross.
Glory be...
God, Sanctifying Spirit, who love the Church as Your Bride, You poured into the heart of Saint Gianna a share of Your Love so that she could radiate it in her family, and thus cooperate with You in the wonderful plan of creation, and give life to new children who could know and love You. We thank You for this model wife and, through her encouraging witness, we beg You to grant to our families the serene and Christian presence of mothers committed to transform their homes into cenacles of faith and love, rich with generous activity and sanctifying service.
Glory be...
O God, Creator and lover of mankind, You were close to Saint Gianna when, affected by illness, she was in the painful dilemma of choosing between her own life and the life of the child whom she was carrying in herself, a gift long-awaited. Trusting You alone, and aware of Your Commandment to respect human life, Gianna found the courage to do her duty as a mother and to say “yes” to the new life of her baby, generously sacrificing her own. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Jesus, and after the example of Gianna, inspire all mothers to welcome with love the sparkle of new life. Grant us the grace we are praying for ………….and the joy to find an inspiration in Saint Gianna who, as a model spouse and mother, after the example of Christ, gave up her life for the life of others.
Hail Mary...
My prayers for you...
Dearest Friends,
As we enter into the beauty of spring time, this is probably one of the hardest seasons besides holidays when our desires for new life fill our hearts. Please know that this desire for life is something very holy and God would not give this to you if it wasn't in His will, but I do feel what He gives us we must give back to Him. So, when you find yourself before the Lord in front of the tabernacle, adoration or at Holy Mass during the consecration, lift your mind to the Lord in that instance and give Him your desires for life. Just as St. Hannah did in the Old Testament, she went to the Temple and lifted all of her desires to God and went on her way. Remember hearing when you were small that if you love something and let it go it will come back to you? This is what I'm trying to say about the desires of our heart, we must learn to release them into God's Hands and let them go as an act of our will.
I remember loosing my second child in this season of Spring, these memories are never easy. What I find in my heart each day I get up to face the life I have been given... I have learned to give everything back to the Lord. In my heart I know my baby once conceived is in the Father's presence in Heaven. My child is rejoicing in the goodness of God, who is the author of all life and the life giving breath of us all good and bad alike. I place my trust in the Lord who made Heaven and Earth, who is and knows all. With Our Holy Father visiting the United States, I have felt a new hope in my heart to trust, that God is with us and that we are not alone in our sufferings. I was once asked how do you get past the suffering when it comes to fertility challenges...what do I do? That is a good question, I have chosen, by the act of my own will to lift my heart to the Lord with all my mind and with all my strength. We have been given free will and the Lord knows all so I give Him my all. He has endured much suffering, so I give Him all of my suffering. Do I think this is easy? NO, this is never easy, this is something that I have chosen to do, to rejoice in the moment God is giving me today. I have decided not to let things bring me down, I have decided to live and take care of who I am today. I pray that all of you will also, as my mother once told me, "Choose today as if it was the first day of the rest of your life!", may we all make that choice today.
May Our Dear Mother Mary, Queen of Heaven, wrap you all in Her Mantle of Hope and Trust that you may find peace today in all of your trials and that they may turn into the Joy that you need to get through this NEW DAY.
May God bless and keep you and don't forget that the acts of faith, hope and love are all acts of our will and a choice. If you are suffering try to reach out to someone else who is also suffering, the Lord brings so much grace in this act of self giving.
Peace and Blessings,
Hannah's Tears
Prayer to St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Our Lady of Tenderness, pray for us.
We invite you to reflect on Our Lady of Tenderness with us, Mary, Mother of God. Let us cling to Our Lady. As we find ourselves before Jesus, within His Eucharistic presence, during our sufferings and struggles of this life, we will find peace as we place all of our trust in Him. As Jesus said on the cross, "John take Mary as your mother..." He is speaking also to us!
Let us place our prayers, our sufferings and our struggles in Our Lady's maternal care, as we pray:
O' Mary Conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee and for those who do not have recourse to thee, especially the enemies of the Church.
Narrative: Our Lady of Tenderness icon is in the tradition of the Mother of God Eleusa icons. The Greek word eleusa means "compassionate one" implying intimacy, gentleness and grace. The Eleusa image is characterized by the expression of tenderness. The Mother of God is in a caress with the Child. Their cheeks are touching, connecting them to each other, while the gesture of the hands connotes universality. The Virgin offers the Son to man, while the Son offers the Virgin. Mutuality of intention is the emphasis of this particular rendition. The angels hold scrolls musically notated for voice echoing "King of Glory" and "Lord of Hosts."
Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.
