Trust In God's Mercy

Gracious Father, I thank you for the mercy you have shown in forgiving my sins and for the peace that comes from being reconciled with you and with your Church. O God, you are faithful, and you never abandon those who hope in you. I know that my redemption from sin and death has been purchased at the cost of your Son's blood. In return for this priceless gift, I resolve today to renew my trust in your unfailing mercy. In times of doubt, when painful memories of past sins threaten to destroy the peace you have given, let the power of your Holy Spirit cast out all self-condemnation and give me greater confidence in your word of pardon. Teach me to encourage others so they, too, may seek your tender compassion and come to know your peace, which nothing can take away. I pray this in the name of Jesus, your Son, in whom you have restored me to life. Amen.

Miscarriage Prayer

My Lord, the baby is dead!

Why, my Lord—dare I ask why? It will not hear the whisper of the wind or see the beauty of its parents’ face—it will not see the beauty of Your creation or the flame of a sunrise. Why, my Lord?

“Why, My child—do you ask ‘why’? Well, I will tell you why.

You see, the child lives. Instead of the wind he hears the sound of angels singing before My throne. Instead of the beauty that passes he sees everlasting Beauty—he sees My face. He was created and lived a short time so the image of his parents imprinted on his face may stand before Me as their personal intercessor. He knows secrets of heaven unknown to men on earth. He laughs with a special joy that only the innocent possess. My ways are not the ways of man. I create for My Kingdom and each creature fills a place in that Kingdom that could not be filled by another. He was created for My joy and his parents’ merits. He has never seen pain or sin. He has never felt hunger or pain. I breathed a soul into a seed, made it grow and called it forth.”

I am humbled before you, my Lord, for questioning Your wisdom, goodness, and love. I speak as a fool—forgive me. I acknowledge Your sovereign rights over life and death. I thank You for the life that began for so short a time to enjoy so long an Eternity.

Prayer for the Adoption of a Child
O Lord our God, who through Your beloved Child, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Grace of Your All-holy Spirit, called us children of God through adoption, and said, I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to me a Son. Do You, the same King, loving God, look down from Your holy dwelling-place on high, upon these Your servants, (mother, father) and unite their natures which you have begotten separate from one another according to the flesh, through Your Holy Spirit, into parents (mother, father) and (son, daughter). Confirm them in Your love; bind them through Your benediction; bless them to Your great glory; strengthen them in Your faith; preserve them always and renounce them not for that which proceeds from their lips. Be Mediator for their promises, that their love which they have confessed to You be not torn asunder even to the evening of their lives; grant that they may be kept sincerely alive in You, our only Living and True God, and grant to them to become heirs of Your Kingdom, for to You is due all glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

Mercy Sunday

Do we Trust God in every way? It is hard to trust in everyway all of the time, we are always fighting those temptations. My mother used to say, "Perfect Love Casts Out all FEAR". If we have a Holy Trust in Our Lord is that not the same as Perfect Love?

May we all find peace on this sacred day of Our Lord's Divine Mercy who from His side shed blood and water upon us all.

Blessings to all from the Apostolate of Hannah's Tears

Annunciation Novena

I greet you, Ever-blessed Virgin, Mother of God, Throne of Grace, miracle of Almighty Power! I greet you, Sanctuary of the Most Holy Trinity and Queen of the Universe, Mother of Mercy and refuge of sinners! Most loving Mother, attracted by your beauty and sweetness, and by your tender compassion, I confidently turn to you, miserable as I am, and beg of you to obtain for me from your dear Son the favor I request in this novena: (mention your request). Obtain for me also, Queen of heaven, the most lively contrition for my many sins and the grace to imitate closely those virtues which you practiced so faithfully, especially humility, purity and obedience. Above all, I beg you to be my Mother and Protectress, to receive me into the number of your devoted children, and to guide me from your high throne of glory. Do not reject my petitions, Mother of Mercy! Have pity on me, and do not abandon me during life or at the moment of my death. Amen.

Odyssey of faith: From Infertility to New Life

This is a beautiful article of a faithful Catholic woman's struggle with infertility, please see this story at the following link... http://www.cst-phl.com/060727/fourth.html

"Those years of infertility sometimes seemed like eternity, but the Lord used that time to teach us many things: to trust Him, to pray in the face of hopelessness, to seek His will — all of which are easier said than done."

Adopting Special Needs Children

We wanted to share this note that Barbara sent for those interested in adopting a child with special needs. As a friend told me on Easter Sunday, which was yesterday, "we need them more than they need us". There is something about the smile these children have, their souls are full of so much love! We pray that this information will be a blessing to all those who are seeking such a gift.

Adoption Novena and Patron Saints

The Prayer of Abandonment for Adoptive Parents
Father, we abandon ourselves into your hands, to send a child ... or not ... as you see fit. You by whom the Word was made flesh, send us a miracle, if this is what you desire. Or lead us to her/him, if that be your will. We do not ask for guarantees; no parent can. Only light enough for the very next step. We do not ask for a perfect child, nor can we promise to be perfect parents. Whatever you choose for us, whatever you desire we abandon ourselves to your perfect will. We are ready to offer our daily "yes,"until that perfect will be revealed in us. And until, at last perfected, we bear witness to the work of redemption you began in Eden. We love you, Lord, and offer ourselves to you, wholly and without reservation. We surrender ourselves, moment by moment, knowing that this is only the first small step of a lifetime of surrender, so that we may be made more perfect in love. That we might imitate, on earth as in heaven, the redemptive love the adoptive love the selfless lovewith which you first loved us.

The Barren Fig Tree

The Lord shows us through His Divine Word to trust Him in everything. Never to question Him but to seek Him in all things. He tells us in Mark 11, if we have FAITH that we can move mountains. What are the mountains in your life?

St. Patrick, pray for us.

Patrick was a humble, pious, gentle man, whose love and total devotion to and trust in God should be a shining example to each of us. He feared nothing, not even death, so complete was his trust in God, and of the importance of his mission.

Church Teaching on Children that Die Before Birth

http://www.americancatholic.org/messenger/Jan2005/feature3.asp#top
The Church’s teaching in the Catechism of the Catholic Church is full of compassion: “As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus’ tenderness toward children which caused him to say: ‘Let the children come to me, do not hinder them,’ allow us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism” (#1261). In other words, know and believe that your unbaptized baby does have the hope of heaven.

Faith is Hope

“Hope”, in fact, is a key word in Biblical faith—so much so that in several passages the words “faith” and “hope” seem interchangeable. Thus the Letter to the Hebrews closely links the “fullness of faith” (10:22) to “the confession of our hope without wavering” (10:23). Likewise, when the First Letter of Peter exhorts Christians to be always ready to give an answer concerning the logos—the meaning and the reason—of their hope (cf. 3:15), “hope” is equivalent to “faith”.

Let us place our HOPE in the Lord God who made Heaven and Earth.
