Sharing ~ Note from a Reader

The note below was sent to us by one of our readers on the feast of Sts. Anne and Joachim.

So many souls praying for those who are suffering with infertility, most especially those that have experienced the challenges themselves.

Thank you (J.) for sharing your beautiful note of support!

Anyone else that would like to share a note with us, send your thoughts to Hannahs.Tears@gmail.com .

Dear Hannah’s Tears –

What a beautiful apostolate you have for women who have and are experiencing infertility. My husband and I experienced infertility for 5 years and—by the grace of God—we have two young boys. We are trying again and hopefully God will bless us again. However, the pains of infertility are still present in our hearts. And, I have a very strong empathetic response to women who are childless right now. I would love to have a copy of the essay, Embracing the Cross of Infertility, but am having a difficult time accessing it on the web.

Can you help me?

In addition, check out this article from Zenit on a spiritual answer to infertility—referring to the above essay.

"Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows"

Today is the anniversary date that Our Lady called a few simple women to begin a ministry on the path of sorrows. I pray and ask Our Blessed Mother to take this ministry into her Immaculate Heart and do with it as she wills to bring glory to her son Jesus.

May all of you who are on the path of sorrows, be comforted, by our heavenly mother.

We pray that you will find peace and hope in her son.

"Feast of the Triumph of the Holy Cross"

As we attended Holy Mass today, I thought of all of us lifting our cross to the one who has triumphed in the cross. St. Pio tells us we must embrace our cross with Christ, for without Christ with us, it is impossible. Let us lift our hearts and minds to Our Lord today on this special feast,

The Triumph of the Cross
.

God bless and keep you all in His Most Sacred Heart.

"Embracing the Cross"

I pray that my dear friend at All You Who Hope, doesn't mind me linking her post for

I find her words heart warming as we try to embrace our cross each day... It is not easy whatever the cross. Our infertility, losing a child through miscarriage, the early death of a child, illness, or the process of giving up my will over Gods Holy will.

Our prayer for you today is that you will find hope, strength and encouragement in the journey of another soul trying to embrace her cross. We are all called to encourage each other... we are all called to be another "Simon of Cyrene". This is just what "All You Who Hope" does for us today, she brings encouragement to us who seek to follow Our Lord in the teachings of Holy Mother Church. If you follow her site you see her trials, of hope and sorrow, but most of all you see her continual trust in the Lord no matter what life seems to bring.

Remember dear friends it is in the trying that we carry our cross with faith, hope and love... we are only human...take one day at a time. Our Lady is with you in your sufferings, continue to seek her aide.

You are in our prayers, if you need to talk, we are here to listen.

Blessings in Christ,
Hannah's Tears

Adoption Networking

There are many couples that are trying to discern adoption these days, so I wanted to give you a site of support. Laura Christianson is a Christian author and adoptive mother that started the Adoption Network. This is something we need to seek more of in our Catholic faith, spiritual support in the adoption world as we are all adopted into the family of Christ by His death on the cross. I pray these sites will be helpful to you in your discernment about adoption, sometimes it just takes a leap of faith. Blessing to all...

"Like Jesus we belong to the world living
not for ourselves but for others.
The joy of the Lord is our strength."

DEAR JESUS, help me to spread Thy fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with Thy spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Thine. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus. Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.

Sant Rafca (Rebecca) ~ September 1 ~ Little Flower of Lebanon

Like Therese of Lisieux, Rafca, "The Little Flower of Lebanon," the "Purple Rose," the "Silent and Humble Nun", had to tell her life story to her Mother Superior some months before her death. Obedience to this request is the reason why today we are able to know something about this woman who sought for nothing else but to be forgotten by men and live only for God. However, the perfume of this violet immediately spread after her death and has attracted the attention of the ecclesiastical authorities.
Novena to St. Rafca go to: http://www.wmcm.org/saintrafcanovena.html
We ask You, Saint Rafqa, to spread real joy in our world which is suffering; to comfort sad people and make them happy and caring; to teach us to pray with faith in Jesus Christ and to live our life peacefully. Medicine was incapable of curing you, so You cured sick people by supporting pain and sharing with Jesus Christ the Mystery of Redemption. We ask You to wipe off the tears; to cure sick people; to fill people’s hearts with joy and love; to make us follow Your steps and virtues in order to glorify, with You the Virgin Mary, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

Novena Prayer to Saint Raymond Nonnatus
O Blessed Saint Raymond Nonnatus, so loving to all your devotees, I being last of them all, I am happy to know that through the infinite goodness of God, He has deigned to make you a Saint, adorned thee with special graces and help, for which I am most thankful. On the Most Holy Trinity, and you my adorable patron saint, through your merits and those of the blood poured by our Savior Jesus Christ, and through the Immaculate Conception of Mary, I most humbly beg thee, deign to intercede from the most sublime God, protection for the holy Mother Church, that through your prayers, God's wrath be taken away, see the progress of true faith, defeat the wrong doctrines, the peace and understanding of all Christians, peace of the whole country and the redemption of the Christian captives.

I am humbly begging you my devoted saint, that you be may be my intercessor. Since for many hours you did not die of the womb of your dead mother an you were successfully delivered from her side, to be the joy of the world, and that my soul may live in grace in this earthly world, may I imitate your live and exemplary holiness, so that when the hour of my death comes, I may detest all evil thoughts and temporary wealth of this world, so that with the burning love for God, my soul may reach heaven and together with you and the angels and all the saints, praise God Almighty forever.

Deign to grant me most amiable father the favor I am asking in this novena (mention the request). I firmly believe most amiable father that you will be my protection since you are merciful to any one imploring thy help. But if the favor I am asking will not be for the glory of God and the good of my soul, then beg from God that I will be resigned to his Divine Will, so that I may have the peace of soul while I live, till the hour of my death and that I enjoy true happiness in heaven.

Govenor Sarah Palin is a witness of hope in an age where abortion is readily available to those who are suffering with difficult pregnancy. What an inspiration to the faithful, as we fight for and pray for life! Here's an article that was published by the National Catholic Register called "2 Ways of Seeing Babies".

Let us keep this election in our prayers and lift our suffering to the Lord as He makes use of them all. Remember nothing is waisted!

As Mrs. Palin struggled with a difficult pregnancy, many families in this life do. "Nothing is far from God." - Saint Monica
Feast Day - August 27th
Patron of Wives
Dear St. Monica, troubled wife and mother, many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime. Yet, you never despaired or lost faith. With confidence, persistence, and profound faith, you prayed daily for the conversion of your beloved husband, Patricius,and your beloved son, Augustine; your prayers were answered. Grant me that same fortitude, patience, and trust in the Lord. Intercede for me, dear St. Monica, that God may favorably hear my plea for (Mention your intention here.) and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Transverberation of the Heart of Teresa of Avila

If Christ Jesus dwells in a man as his friend and noble leader, that man can endure all things, for Christ helps and strengthens us and never abandons us. He is a true friend. And I clearly see that is we expect to please him and receive an abundance of his graces, God desires that these graces must come to us from the hands of Christ, through his most sacred humanity, in which God takes delight. All blessings come to us through our Lord. He will teach us, for in beholding his life we find that he is the best example. What more do we desire from such a good friend at our side? Unlike our friends in the world, he will never abandon us when we are troubled or distressed. Blessed is the one who truly loves him and always keeps him near. Whenever we think of Christ we should recall the love that led him to bestow on us so many graces and favors, and also the great love God showed in giving us in Christ a pledge of his love; for love calls for love in return. Let us strive to keep this always before our eyes and to rouse ourselves to love him. For is at some time the Lord should grant us the grace of impressing his love on our hearts, all will become easy for us and we shall accomplish great things quickly and without effort.

August 22 ~ Coronation of Mary

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Our Lady of Knock ~ Our Lady of Silence ~ August 21, 2008

Happy Feast of Our Lady of Knock to all you that are Irish or Irish at heart. Our Lady of Knock is also known as Our Lady of Silence, at times when we pray, our prayers are most times answered in silence. If this is where you are right now, just aware of God's silence... Renew your trust in Jesus and Mary and know that your are not alone. Most of us are learning to trust the Lord in His silence. There is a scripture that says "Be Still and Know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). Maybe this is where we need to be when things feel like they are not going our way. Listen to the Lord in His silence, there is much to be learned in this apparition of Our Lady of Knock.
God bless you!

Saint Bernard of Clairvaux ~ August 20

“In dangers, in doubts, in difficulties, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let not her name depart from your lips, never suffer it to leave your heart. And that you may more surely obtain the assistance of her prayer, neglect not to walk in her footsteps. With her for guide, you shall never go astray; while invoking her, you shall never lose heart; so long as she is in your mind, you are safe from deception; while she holds your hand, you cannot fall; under her protection you have nothing to fear; if she walks before you, you shall not grow weary; if she shows you favor, you shall reach the goal”

Saint Helena ~ August 18 ~ pray for us

Saint Helena

Holy and blessed Saint Helena, with the anguish and devotion with which you sought the Cross of Christ, I plead that you give me God's grace to suffer in patience the labors of this life, so that through them and through your intercession and protection, I will be able to seek and carry the Cross, which God has placed upon me, so that I can serve Him in this life and enjoy His Glory ever after. Amen.

August 18 ~ Saint Jane Frances of Chantel

Hold your eyes on God and leave the doing to him. That is all the doing you have to worry about.

Fidelity toward God consists in being perfectly resigned to his holy will, in enduring everything that his goodness allows in our lives, and in carrying out all our duties, especially that of prayer, with love and for love. In prayer we must converse very familiarly with our Lord, concerning our little needs, telling him what they are, and remaining submissive to anything he may wish to do with us...

We should go to prayer with deep humility and an awareness of our nothingness. We must invoke the help of the Holy Spirit and that of our good angel, and then remain still in God's presence, full of faith that he is more in us than we are in ourselves.

There is no danger if our prayer is without words or reflection because the good success of prayer dependsd neither on words nor on study. It depends upon the simple raising of our minds to God, and the more simple and stripped of feeling it is, the surer it is.

We must never dwell on our sins during prayer. Regarding our offenses, a simple humbling of our soul before God, without a thought of this offense or that, is enough...such thoughts act as distractions.

Immaulate Heart of Mary

Let us renew our trust in the one who, from heaven,
watches over us with maternal love at every moment.
—POPE BENEDICT XVI, General Audience, August 13th, 2008
O most pure heart of Mary, full of goodness, show your love towards us. Let the flame of your heart, O Mary, descend on all people. We love you immensely. Impress on our hearts true love so that we may long for you.

O Mary, gentle and humble of heart, remember us when we sin. You know that all people sin. Grant that through your most pure and motherly heart, we may be healed from every spiritual sickness. Grant that we may always experience the goodness of your motherly heart, and that through the flame of your heart we may be converted.
Amen.
O' Mary heal our broken hearts
that we may find peace in your

O Lord Jesus Christ who said, "greater love than this no man has that a man lay down his life for his friends," through the intercession of St. Maximilian Kolbe, whose life illustrated such love, we beseech You to grant us our petitions .....(mention them here).

Through the Knights of the Immaculata movement, which Maximilian founded, he spread a fervent devotion to Our Lady throughout the world. He gave up his life for a total stranger and loved his persecutors, giving us all an example of unselfish love for all men --- a love which was inspired by true devotion to Mary.

Grant O Lord Jesus, that we too may give ourselves entirely without reserve to the love and service of our Heavenly Queen in order to better love and serve our fellowman in imitation of your humble servant, Maximilian.

Amen.

Miscarriage Ministry Support

Guest writer Kambra Malone has a few words to share about "Back In His Arms Again Ministry"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Friends of Hannah's Tears,
I am writing you today to tell you of a ministry that my husband and I along with Fr. H. Blubaugh began in 2005. It is called "Back In His Arms Again". We felt called to begin this ministry after the loss of our son, Gabriel Francis. Since May 2005 we have been approved and distributed throughout the Columbus diocese. Not only do we help families in need during the loss of their baby, we also have made presentations at many area churches, hospitals, the National convention of "Newborns In Need" and most recently recorded a program with Fr. Frank Pavone which aired on June 1, 2008, "Gospel of Life" program. In addition we have recorded two radio programs with our local Catholic station, St. Gabriel Radio, "Yes Lord!" program.
One of our most recent projects is establishing a "Garden of Holy Innocents" at each of the four Catholic cemetery's in Columbus Ohio. This would provide a place of healing and prayer for families that experience the loss of a baby. We anticipate the completion of these burial "Gardens" in the next year.
We receive 50-100 emails and phone calls per month from around the USA, and we have received several international phone calls. Our ministry provides anything from burial layettes, caskets, funeral home support, hospital transportation, etc... the whole idea is to bring together resources from our community and beyond to help families give their babies a respectful and dignified burial. It is evident from our rapid growth in the past three years, that we need to help families through the Catholic faith to find healing and peace.
Fr. Frank Pavone, will soon be helping us to grow even further on a National level. We are looking forward to expanding so we may help as many families as possible.
Please find our web address below to learn more about our ministry to honor precious little lives.
Saint Dominic
A Spaniard who founded the Dominicans, "Father of the Friars", fought the Albigensians in France, and received the Rosary from Virgin Mary.
Reflection: “God has never refused me what I have asked,” said Saint Dominic. How could God refuse to respond to the single intention of His Saints, which is His own — the salvation and sanctification of souls? Saint Dominic has left us the Rosary that we may learn, with Mary’s help, to ask what pleases God, and then to pray easily and simply with the same trust.
Saint Albert of Trapani
Lord God, you made St. Albert of Trapani a model of purity and prayer, and a devoted servant of Our Lady. May we practise these same virtues and so be worthy always to share the banquet of your grace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Prayers of the Carmelite Proper
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is of great importance to understand as Catholic Christians that when we suffer and offer it to God as a prayer, this becomes a great treasure, which seems to be beyond all human understanding. We must learn to unite our sufferings to Jesus on the Cross, just as many saints did in days past. "Be NOT Afraid!"

Bl. Edmund Bojanowski

The Lord is so good!

I was in search of the Saint of the day and found that Bl. Edmund is also chosen for August 7. His story is so beautiful, his life a gift to Our Lord... His love for Our Lady was heroic as he was given a gift of serving others.

"Bl. Edmund Bojanowski loved God and loved man. He was a man of prayer. His love for people, demonstrated by heroic deeds, was born of deep union with God through prayer. He drew from it the strength to serve man. That love grew in him on his knees and later bore fruit. Through prayer his whole life became a ceaseless service to the needy, especially children. For him, God's affairs were also human affairs, and love of God was love of man."

Pope John Paul II

Thank God humbly for the grace of His holy inspiration. May the holy fire of God's love glow more brightly and ardently in your heart so that neither difficulties nor anything in the world would lessen the zeal in your heart in this spiritual endeavor." Encouragement of Blessed Edmund

Profile
A member of a wealthy, landed, Polish noble family. He studied literature at universities in Breslau and Berlin. Contracted tuberculosis in his 20s. He dedicated his life to the service of abandoned children, the sick, and poor, teaching and spending his fortune in the service of the needy. He founded reading rooms and libraries to provide books and learning to the poor, and started the first daycare centers in the country. He funded assistance for the sick, supported orphanages, and worked in both himself. Founded the Congregation of the Servants of the Immaculate Virgin Mary whose 4,500 sisters continue the work around the world. Two years before his death Edmund entered the seminary, but did not survive long enough to graduate or be ordained.

~Let us all lift our cross to Jesus at the foot of the altar~

The cross that you endure is real and it has been made especially for you. Let no one ever compare their cross with yours! Each of us has pain, suffering and emotions that belong to the one who bares the pain. Comparing our crosses in this life just adds to the grief... it goes in circles like a cat chasing it's tail. May we all find the peace we need in all of our trials.
Anyone who needs to compare their cross with someone else needs much prayer and hope. Let us pray for each other...
God Bless!

Transfiguration of the Lord

The TRANSFIGURATION of OUR LORD

Reflection: From the contemplation of this glorious mystery we ought to conceive a true idea of future happiness. If this idea enters our souls, we will think nothing of the difficulties or labors we meet with here, but will regard with great indifference all the goods and evils of this life, provided we obtain our portion in the kingdom of God’s glory.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O' Mary Conceived without sin, our true Mother in Heaven, please help us all to realize the glory Our Lord has for us beyond the sufferings and trials of this world. Help us to respond with our yes to God as you did. Amen
August 4th ~ Saint John Vianney
So great was St. John Vianney's insight into people's problems that by 1855 the number of his visitors was said to be 20,000 annually, and a special railroad booking office had to be opened in Lyons... you want a miracle?, go to Philomena , he used to say, I don't do miracles.
Catechism on Suffering by Saint John Vianney
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We should consider those moments spent before the Blessed Sacrament as the happiest of our lives.

St. John Vianney

I think that you will receive much out of the "Catechism on Suffering"... What does it mean to you? Suffering with love is the answer...

My prayer is that God, give us the strength and the courage to suffer with love. Let us continue to pray for each other.

Blessings for a beautiful day!

Difficult Prenatal Diagnosis Support

If you are struggling with a difficult pregnancy diagnosis? Have been told that there is no hope?

Consider checking out Benotafraid.net is an online outreach to parents who have received a poor or difficult prenatal diagnosis .

"Benotafraid.net is an online outreach to parents who have received a poor or difficult prenatal diagnosis. The family stories, articles, and links within this site are presented as a resource for those who may have been asked to choose between terminating a pregnancy or continuing on despite the diagnosis. The benotafraid.net families faced the same decision and chose not to terminate. By sharing our experiences, we hope to offer encouragement to those who may be afraid to continue on."

Our Lord has supplied us with many faithful souls within the Church to bring support to those in need. If you or someone you know could use a helping hand, please consider contacting "Be Not Afraid Ministry" . Pope John Paul II, always told us, "be not afraid!" This is something we need to take to heart.

Never fear!

First Friday of August 2008

On this First Friday in honor of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we also celebrate the feast of St. Alphonsus de Ligouri. If you would like to meditate on the stations of the cross today, here is A Scriptural Way of the Cross with Meditations by Saint Alphonsus Liguori

Prayer of Saint Alphonsus Liguori to the Blessed Virgin

Most Holy and Immaculate Virgin! O my Mother! Thou who art the Mother of my Lord, the Queen of the world, the advocate, hope, and refuge of sinners! I, the most wretched among them, now come to thee. I worship thee, great Queen, and give thee thanks for the many favors thou hast bestowed on my in the past; most of all do I thank thee for having saved me from hell, which I had so often deserved. I love thee, Lady most worthy of all love, and, by the love which I bear thee, I promise ever in the future to serve thee, and to do what in me lies to win others to thy love. In thee I put all my trust, all my hope of salvation. Receive me as thy servant, and cover me with the mantle of thy protection, thou who art the Mother of mercy! And since thou hast so much power with God, deliver me from all temptations, or at least obtain for me the grace ever to overcome them. From thee I ask a true love of Jesus Christ, and the grace of a happy death. O my Mother! By thy love for God I beseech thee to be at all times my helper, but above all at the last moment of my life. Leave me not until thou seest me safe in heaven, there for endless ages to bless thee and sing thy praises. Such is my hope. Amen.

As we pray and continue to hope for children, could I please ask you to pray for those that are considering abortion? I just received an email requesting prayer for a lady named Maria who is contemplating abortion.
For those of us that hope for life and those of us whom have lost our little ones we beg you oh Dear Lord to take those in your hands that are considering abortion and we ask you to fill them with peace and hope. Knowing that You Lord will take care of their needs. Amen.
