Bl. Junipero Serra

Meditation

Blessed Junipero Serra, from early childhood you experienced prolonged pain and

suffering, yet with youthful innocence you did not lose faith, hope or charity. You placed

your trust in God and His holy purpose during your novitiate and were able to overcome

untold afflictions. Obtain for me the grace to deepen my belief in what God has revealed.

Strengthen my hope in Him and intensify my love of Him in heart and deed.

"Theology of the Passion of the Christ"

Wow! I just finished listening to a beautiful interview on Catholic Radio with Teresa Tomeo interviewing Monica Migliorino Miller, PhD. She is the author of "The Theology of the Passion of the Christ", she tells us that we need to focus most especially on Simon of Cyrene (during the carrying of the cross) and take to heart, how the cross was thrust upon him without his desire of the cross. Who would ever desire the cross? I don't think that any of us would say that we enjoy the cross, but the cross you have received will be a gift to your soul if you learn to unite your cross to Christ Jesus you will find peace.

God bless you!

There, graces will flow over all people who ask for them with confidence and enthusiasm.
They will flow over both the great and the small."

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Dear Mother Mary,

Please pray for me your child, who is having a difficult time embracing the cross in my life today. Each day it seems to be more difficult, but I know dear mother with your help I will get through. These challenges that confront me have no power over me. I ask you in my weakness, please take me by the hand and help me, unite my sufferings to Jesus Christ crucified. I know with your motherly attention, I will get through these days of sorrow and I will find hope in you who became my mother at the foot of the cross as you continue to lead me back to your son Jesus.

Chaplet in Honor of the Immaculate Heart

V. Incline unto my aid, O God!
R. O Lord, make haste to help me!
V. Glory be to the Father, etc.
R. As it was in the beginning, etc.

1. Immaculate Virgin, who, conceived without sin, didst direct every movement of thy most pure heart to that God Who was ever the object of thy love, and who was ever most submissive to His will, obtain for me the grace to hate sin with my whole heart, and to learn of thee to live in perfect resignation to the will of God.

Pray 1 Our Father, 7 Hail Mary's

Heart transpierced with pain and woe, Set my heart with love aglow!

2. I marvel, Mary, at thy deep humility, through which thy blessed heart was troubled at the gracious message brought thee by Gabriel, the archangel, that thou wast chosen Mother of the Son of the Most High, and through which thou didst proclaim thyself his humble handmaid. Wherefore, in great confusion at the sight of my pride, I ask thee for the grace of a contrite and humble heart, that, knowing my own misery, I may obtain that crown of glory promised to the truly humble of heart.

Pray 1 Our Father, 7 Hail Mary's

Heart transpierced with pain and woe, Set my heart with love aglow!

3. Blessed Virgin, who, in thy sweetest heart, didst keep as a precious treasure the words of Jesus thy Son, and pondering on the lofty mysteries they contained, didst learn to live for God alone, how doth my cold heart confound me! O dearest Mother! Get me grace so to meditate within my heart upon God's holy law that I may strive to follow thee in the fervent practice of every Christian virtue.

Pray 1 Our Father, 7 Hail Mary's

Heart transpierced with pain and woe, Set my heart with love aglow!

4. Glorious Queen of Martyrs, whose sacred heart was pierced in thy Son's bitter Passion by the sword, whereof the holy man Simeon had prophesied, gain for my heart true courage and a holy patience to bear the troubles and misfortunes of this miserable life, that so by crucifying my flesh with its desires while following the mortification of the Cross, I may indeed show myself to be a true child of thine.

Pray 1 Our Father, 7 Hail Mary's

Heart transpierced with pain and woe, Set my heart with love aglow!

5. O Mary, Mystical Rose, whose loving heart, burning with the living fire of charity, did accept us for thy sons at the foot of the Cross, becoming thus our tender Mother, make me feel the sweetness of thy maternal heart and thy power with Jesus, that when menaced by the perils of this mortal life, and most of all in the dread hour of death, my heart united with thine may love my Jesus then and through all ages. Amen.

Pray 1 Our Father, 7 Hail Mary's

Heart transpierced with pain and woe, Set my heart with love aglow!

Let us now turn to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, that He may inflame us with His holy love!

O Divine Heart of Jesus! To Thee I consecrate myself, full of deep gratitude for the many blessings I have received and daily do receive from Thy boundless charity. With my whole heart I thank thee for having, in addition to them all, vouchsafed to give me Thy own most holy Mother, giving me to her as a child, in the person of the beloved disciple. Let my heart ever burn with love for Thee, finding in Thy sweetest Heart its peace, its refuge, and its happiness. AMEN!

Saint Ephrem of Syria, pray for us

"Go with Him, as His inseparable companion, to the wedding feast of Cana, and drink of the wine of His blessing. Let you have ever before you the Face of the Lord, and look upon His beauty, and let your earnest gaze turn nowhere away from His most sweet countenance. Go before Him into a desert place and see the wonder of His works, where He multiplied in His own Holy Hands the bread that sufficed the great multitude. Go, my brother, go forward, and with all the love of your soul follow Christ wherever He may go… And lovingly behold Him as taking bread into His hands, He blesses it, and breaks it, as the outward form of His own Immaculate Body; and the chalice which He blessed as the outward form of His Precious Blood, and gave to His Disciples; and be you also a partaker of His sacraments."
- St. Ephrem of Syria

The Blessed Eucharist
Our Greatest Treasure
By: Rev. Michael Mueller C.SS.R.

In "The Blessed Eucharist," Father Michael Mueller describes how Christ's love for us moved Him to create this most beautiful Sacrament. He explains why Our Lord veils Himself in the appearance of bread - a garment so humble He is little known, little loved even neglected and insulted. Fr. Mueller helps the reader discover what a treasure the Sacrament is, sharing countless compelling accounts of miracles involving the Eucharist, quotations from Scripture and the Saints reflecting the virtues that can be obtained from Communion worthily received and the consequences of an unworthy reception of Our Lord. He instructs the reader on how to best prepare for receiving the Sacrament, and how to properly offer thanksgiving afterwards. "The Blessed Eucharist" awakens a deeper awareness of the incredible gift that God has given us in His Presence in the Eucharist, allowing us to embrace all the wondrous fruits this Sacrament has to offer.

"Set Me As A Seal"

Matt Maher ~ more songs

The Song of Songs

Introduction

The Song of Songs, meaning the greatest of songs (Song 1:1), contains in exquisite poetic form the sublime portrayal and praise of the mutual love of the Lord and his people. The Lord is the Lover and his people are the beloved. Describing this relationship in terms of human love, the author simply follows Israel's tradition. Isaiah (Isaiah 5:1-7; 54:4-8), Jeremiah (Jeremiah 2:2, 3, 32), and Ezekiel (Eze 16; 23) all characterize the covenant between the Lord and Israel as a marriage. Hosea the prophet sees the idolatry of Israel in the adultery of Gomer (Son 1-3). He also represents the Lord speaking to Israel's heart (Song 2:16) and changing her into a new spiritual people, purified by the Babylonian captivity and betrothed anew to her divine Lover "in justice and uprightness, in love and mercy" (Song 2:21).

Psalm 95

As I prayed this psalm in the morning, I thought of you and wanted to share these beautiful words in song. I know life is hard when you are carrying a cross that seems quite unbearable, but I want you not to loose hope in HIM who loves you and will get YOU through all the challenges of this life.

We keep you in our hearts of prayer,
Hannah's Tears Ministry
