Feast of St. Louis de Montfort and St. Gianna Beretta Molla

Dear Lord, may our hearts find you today in our deepest sufferings may we unite them to you through the intercession of your beloved Saints Louis de Montfort and Gianna.  Amen.

On the feast of St. Louis de Monfort we should lift our hearts to Mary our Mother given to us from Our Lord during His passion and death.

If you have never heard of consecrating your heart to Mary, here is a beautiful site for you:

Touches of Mercy and love

This post comes from a Poor Clare Colettine Sister... whatever your sorrows are today, let us draw near to the Lord that became our food and drink.  He is the Good Shepherd who is calling us by name, hear His voice.  Listen and be still before the Lord of all Glory!

A new day! A new grace! Oh my Jesus you make all things new!

Jesus my Eucharistic King and Beloved of my heart, I desire in the presence of this 'newness' to consecrate anew all that I am, totally and without reserve to you.

Bind me body and soul ever more closely with and to  your Holy Sacrament of Love.

That from the Love you pour over me I may in turn pour upon others!!

Unless you become...

In the deepest recesses of the human heart of every grown man and woman is  a child......the child within is the most authentic part of our being, that which is without pretension, affectation, the true, the humble self......

This is the child God wants to pick up and lay upon his breast, this is the child that Mary wants to feed and nurture unto eternal life, the true little, authentic self.....

Man may strive to make all kinds of heroic efforts to please God, serve God, pray to God, but what God desires is simply our hearts and love....that gift is within the possibly of all, and that is Gods justice, wisdom and love.....

Behold the Parenthood within the Trinity... that is our mirror.

As a little child...

I have been asked about Spiritual childhood....it is a beautiful gift of grace to trust in God as a little child, and there are many words in scripture that reveal to us that we are so unto God.

To be as a child before God is totally contrary to the spirit of this world which would try and educate us in power seeking, exploitation, and self  seeking.....

A child seeks to love in simplicity of heart, it looks to those entrusted with its parenthood for all its needs..... this is how God would have us to.... why otherwise would he reveal himself as Father and also give us in his great wisdom and love a heavenly MOTHER ?

We all know times of suffering, pain and disappointment, the pain can be so deep that words fail us totally, at such times place yourself on the heart of your heavenly Mother, climb into the arms of the Father... and simply pour out your tears, for God and Mary love you , understand you as no other ever can or will.

Never fear your littleness and vulnerability it will draw Gods compassion down upon you.

Words from Saint Clare

The words of Saint Clare that mean more to me than any others are, when she was asked on her death bed to whom she was speaking she responded,

" I am speaking to my blessed soul"

Is this not why modern man is so adrift that he lost the awareness the faith, the knowledge, that he is possessed of an eternal soul ?

In old spiritual books, classics, there is often a dialogue between the writer and the soul, per example, hear O my soul, listen my soul, rise up O lord and seek, etc etc... this familiarity is lost..........It is rarely included in modern works.

This reality is one of the reasons why man so fears death, seeing himself and others as mere bodies, this lack of understanding also accounts for the fact why abortion can be so easily, by all to many, assented to, that is a total unawareness and acknowledgement of the soul dwelling in each child from conception.

Once created the soul can never be uncreated, it is a good and praiseworthy thing to cultivate a sensitivity and consciences of the indwelling of the immortal soul.

Each and every person is unique and precious to God.

LIFE ON THE ROCK

on EWTN...

If you struggle with infertility

this is a show for you!!!

What do you do if you’re Catholic couple faced with infertility?

Rather than resort to in-vitro fertilization, in which many embryos are created and destroyed, Donna and John Kurtz of Coatesville, Pa. began adopting.

They are now the parents of 21 children (17 adopted, four under their guardianship) from all over the world.

To feed, clothe and house them – and others who need help – they’ve started a non-profit organization called “Saint Joseph’s House.”

The meaning of suffering...

Christ has taught man to do good by his suffering and to do good to those who suffer… This is the meaning of suffering, which is truly supernatural and at the same time human. It is supernatural because it is rooted in the divine mystery of the Redemption of the world, and it is likewise deeply human, because in it the person discovers himself, his own humanity, his own dignity, his own mission. We ask precisely you who are weak to become a source of strength for the Church and humanity. In the terrible battle between the forces of good and evil, revealed to our eyes by our modern world, may your suffering in union with the Cross of Christ be victorious!

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE CATHOLIC LEAGUE FOR RELIGIOUS AND CIVIL RIGHTS

April 3, 2009

CONSCIENCE RIGHTS DEFEATED

Yesterday an amendment introduced by Sen. Tom Coburn to protect the conscience of patients and health care providers was defeated by a vote of 56-41. The amendment was proposed in light of the Obama administration’s plans to rescind the rule, which was issued in December by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), that protects the right of health care workers at federally-funded facilities to refuse to perform or be involved in medical procedures that violate their consciences.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue spoke to this issue today: “The failure of the administration and the Senate to protect freedom of conscience is an outrageous violation of human rights and a slap in the face to Catholics and other people of faith. No one in the health care field should ever be compelled by law to perform or assist in a procedure that violates his conscience. This should be an elementary right, yet there are those who want to trespass on it.”

Francis Cardinal George, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, has called upon Catholics to let the government know that conscience protections are fundamental rights of Americans. He expressed concern that reversal of the current rule “would be the first step in moving our country from democracy to despotism. Failure to protect the right of conscience, combined with overturning the Mexico City Policy, supporting the United Nations Population Fund, funding embryonic stem cell research and nominating radical abortion rights supporter Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to be the Secretary of HHS, sends the message to Catholics that their concerns are not important. We implore all lawmakers to reconsider this issue with an eye toward restoring the conscience rights of health care workers.”

Remembering John Paul II

May 18, 1920 - April 2, 2005

Prayer for the Intercession of John Paul II

O Holy Trinity,we thank you for having given to the Church, Pope John Paul II, and for having made him shine with your fatherly tenderness, the glory of the Cross of Christ and the splendor of the Spirit of love, He, trusting completely in your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, has shown himself in the likeness of Jesus the Good Shepherd and has pointed out to us holiness as the path to reach eternal communion with You. Grant us, through his intercession, according to your will, the grace that we implore, in the hope that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen.

Born: March 25, 1347 - feast of the Annunciation

Feast day: April 29th

Prayer:

Humble virgin and Doctor of the Church, in thirty-three years you achieved great perfection and became the counselor of Popes. You know the temptations of mothers today as well as the dangers that await unborn infants. Intercede for me that I may avoid miscarriage and bring forth a healthy baby who will become a true child of God. Also, pray for all mothers, and all those hoping to be mothers that they may bring new life into the world. Amen

Eucharist and healing of the tongue

When I receive Holy Communion, I entreat and implore the Saviour to heal my tongue, that I may never fail in love of neighbour.

Saint Mary Faustina notebook 2. 590

___________________________________________________

Humility is truth, and Saint Faustina sees clearly where she stands in need of the healing and grace of the Eucharist. Her feelings reflect a soul sensitive to what can harm charity, and damage or wound a neighbour. Indeed the human tongue can be very destructive and inflict much pain upon others. We must strive to always speak the truth in and with love, but being mindful of the reverence we owe to others and being careful to avoid making them feel diminished in anyway... it is a real art to learn to use the tongue well ...Of ourselves we cannot achieve a victory but in and with Jesus we can! and that is why we need to receive him in the Eucharist.
